  • I certainly could be wrong...but as far as I know, antibiotics do not cause anemia. At least: the TYPICAL antibiotic does not cause anemia. It's usually caused by an iron-poor diet.

  • For the same reason other medications cause undesirable reactions - the medical profession calls them "side effects" (so does the rest of the coherent world, come to think of it). You can check, but I'm sure almost all prescribed medications have the possibility of these side effects.
