"They fear what they don't understand," so why dont we take the time to understand it?

Maybe they had once made efforts to understand those fears but failed, which made their fears even worse. Time is not the only element of an answer to the fears sometimes. Minds, courage and other factors also count...

Because we are afraid of it. It's a catch 22 isn't it. It is very hard to step out in faith and take a chance on something that scares us. Most people, I think, never take that plunge.

That's a fantastic question. I suppiose because it's often "easier" to just fear something than to actually open your mind to try and understand something. Also because otherwise people would have to change their beliefs and their ideals- and that can be scary in and of itself. Most people just aren't willing to go that far to learn and understand.

Usually people don't understand or seek to understand because they fear understanding what they fear far more than they fear the thing itself.
