extremely, extremely small.

I would agree with Mushen. Chances are slim, but, if you are patient, it is possible. You can 'train' them to realize that you are not a threat. I would take a long time to develop that trust - and a long time standing still, but it can be done. I haven't gotten to that point with my local birds, but they no longer flee whenever I walk by them. :-)

I've never seen a bird do that, (without food), but I have seen butterflies land on people. It's so cool.

i would say the chances are very very small. i let two finches go in my dads avairy and one landed on my hand and stayed there for a while but when they got used to the avairy they never came near us. so i doubt wild birds would land on your finger because they are used to the outdoors.

A couple months ago, my son-in-law and I were about 12 miles off the east coast of south Florida fishing. A small yellow and black bird came and sat on the boats tie down rope.then it flew over and sat on the ignition key, then to my son-in-law's knee and then to my shoulder. The bird sat in each place for several minutes. Didn't seem to be the least bit afraid of us. It drank water out of a bottle cap, and flew off only to return in about 30 minutes, then flew off again toward another boat about 200 yard away. Also my mother has humming birds in the summer. They will sit on your finger if you stand real still near the feeder and place your finger so they can reach the goodies. They have become pretty tame. She says its the same birds every year but I don't know.
