  • When species choose the desired characteristics in their reproductive partners. When people dis their exes what they're really saying is I chose poorly and made a bad decision. Why choose what you don't like to fuck up with? haha
    • LogicHead
But that agrues for the opposite conclusion. Why stop at the dissing as if the next choice were bound to be good. Don't you see?? You've made an argument about why NS is wrong.
  • Does anybody even subscribe to that anymore ?? :) It is the idea that nature selects among competing living beings to see which Should survive. And that is supposed to explain why the survive: nature has selected the best candidate....silly...all the personalizing of a supposedly impersonal process
  • See Charles Darwin's book "Origin Of the Species by means of Natural Selection or The Preservation of The Favoured Races In The Struggle For Life." (Same book) It was survival of the fittest but Darwin was more obsessed by the intellectuals of his time being the favoured race which is why he had no understanding of "spreading the genes about a bit" and interbred with the other members of the X-club, with some disastrous results, his main concern was of the Malthusian catastrophe and population control, the same obsession of the elites to this day. Malthus proposed two kinds of population checks: preventive and positive. A preventive check is a conscious decision to delay marriage or abstain from procreation based on a lack of resources. Malthus argued that man is incapable of ignoring the consequences of uncontrolled population growth, and would intentionally avoid contributing to it. According to Malthus, a positive check is any event or circumstance that shortens the human life span. The primary examples of this are war, plague and famine. However, poor health and economic conditions are also considered instances of positive checks
