I don't think "classic rock" means the same thing to every person. My off-the-cuff answer is Led Zeppelin, but I really liked The Police when they were considered a new band. I guess they are classic rock now. But I also really like Focus, who is older and rock, and were once considered classic, but now less so, because they faded into obscurity over time.
