Columbine has a much more interesting back story behind it, however if were talking the scale of deaths than no question V-Tech. HOWEVER, if were talking about the backlash after the shootings, and the large scale invasive laws that came about restricting personal gun use and almost destroying the 2nd amendment, then Columbine.

They were both awful. If I had to choose one, I'd say Columbine because it was the first time I'd ever heard of something like that happening and they were children.

Any shooting where the victims have to wait to be shot instead of being allowed to fight back is a bad shooting. http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/april2007/160407gunban.htm http://www.roanoke.com/news/nrv/wb/xp-21770 Note the date on this one...2005 was when the groundwork for such a high casualty rate was laid. Yep... gun control really worked at V Tech. http://www.google.com/search?q=virginia+tech+gun+ban&rls=com.microsoft:en-us&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1 I wonder why none of the news outlets reported on this...

What about Kent State, only a couple died but the unarmed students were shot and killed by American Soldiers.

Neither. There were many more horrific massacres in the US. For example, the Massacre led by General Alfred Sully in 1863 in the Dakota territory killed between 150 and 300 Indians who had committed no crimes.
