  • I wasn't on the old site, I only joined this month. I wouldn't know what questions were dragged back from the archives.

Compare the "view" number (in your browser address bar on top of your screen) to another question that you know to be current, like one of your own. If there's a big difference between them then the question is old.
  • No they are pretty much all the same except for current topics. I know some of them I answered years ago.

  • I figured the questions that have long threads of answers and comments are recycled...Do the old question's sequential numbers show up in the address bar?
    • Ice man
Yes, exactly right. You just have to compare the "view number" ( the actual question #) to any other that you know to be current, like one that you or I just asked. I bitched about the answers not sticking thing and got a reply. They launched a new anti-spam program and it was marking all answers as spam , and kicking them off. As you can see they have resolved the problem, and I'm happy once again. : )
  • Do the old question's sequential numbers show address bar?
  • Is the sequential number in the address bar?
  • Test... I've tried to answer your question three times, all were deleted.
  • Yes I do know because you taught me.

      (big grin) Thanks.

It is I who should thank you.
  • 5-30-2017 If you have never seen the question and it already has several dozen answers, it has been resurrected from the archives.
    • Ice man
That is a good possibility, but looking at the "view number" will confirm it.

Yes, I have figured that out now. Current posts have numbers above 3,490,000 and archived posts have numbers below 1,600,000.
  • Yep, old questions mostly have 30, 50 to over 100 answers.
