At the present time, it is not possible to legally own a .50 BMG in the UK. It does not fit any of the classifications of "sporting guns" that are permitted in the UK at this time. Last year, there was a move in Parliment to modify some of the draconian gun laws throughout the UK, but there wasn't enough support from wither Labour or the Conservatives to get anything through. As such, you can't legally own one at this time and it isn't likely to change for the next few years.

it is perfectly legal to own a .50 bmg rifle providing you have good reasona and appropriate surroundings, a membership to an energy approved range is all you need.
