i think praying together is important and site like http://theopenprayer.com/ enables different religions to pray for each other. not pray that they'll change to the other's religion but pray for basic things together e.g marriage problems, job problems.... i dont think you should not pray for someone because they are of a different religion.

They can pray together. I am a Christian before I am a Catholic and to truly be a Christian I believe in the betterment of all mankind and I am not stupid enough to think that everyone is going to have the same beliefs as me. I believe prayer changes... and everyone is needed to make that change happen.

Whenever believers pray together it makes a difference. It doesn't matter which church they attend. God is no respecter of religion. He cares about what a person believes in his heart.
-
I think a better question would be "Does God hear all prayers?". Human tendency is to think everything revolves around us and out beliefs. I would think that God has requirements for how to aproach Him.

No, I don't think so, I'm pretty sure that's one of those main problems in religion... you know.. the whole separate God part, and also the fact that each different religion follows different prophets, etc. They believe in a God, but their God doesn't listen to those who deny him, and vice-versa.

Let's put it this way. When I go out to eat with my friends we all like to eat different things. But we enjoy the meal together anyways.
-
I can pray with anyone I think.

Just pray to the universal God, the God of all the Prophets/Messengers of God, “The God”. That’ll unite everybody. Muslims of all languages all over the world always pray to “The God”, except that they use the Arabic word for “The God” because it is the only language in the world which has one single word exclusively reserved for “The God”. The word is Allah. It has neither a plural (gods) associated with it nor gender (goddess).

Yes. People of different religions can pray together and their prayers can make a difference. "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst."
-
There is no evidence that prayer has any effect beyond the psychological.
