Depends on the environment. Humidity levels, Temperature, The mix of concrete used, how thick the layer is... etc.. Normally I'd leave it a few hours just to be sure.

a cubic meter of concrete can take a very long time to set. It depends on the type of concrete used, the percentage of cement, the percentage of water in the mix, the external temperature and humidity, the type of sand used and it's humidity and ho long you have mixed it. A building normally is ready to be used around a month after the cement has been set, but cement continues hardening for years.

Concrete sets because of a chemical reaction called hydration that occurs between the portland cement and the water. If it stays damp, it will cure indefintely, but at a continually slower rate. Concrete will be half hard in 7 days, and after 28 days it will be nearly as hard as it gets and trying to harden it more is hardly worth the effort. There are also special types of concrete that are designed to harden more quickly.
