  • I will have to say no with you facts provided. If you can see the icon on the task bar then yes, if you cannot the program has an error and should be reinstalled.
  • No. All the antivirus do is delete the virus if it found any. If it closed, then you're bound to get virus.
  • Not just no but HELL NO!!!!! And it gets worse. Let me tell you my experience with that. I once had a virus that was smart enough to shut down my AV. I couldn't scan/disinfect as it would shut down the AV within the first 30 seconds of scanning. I couldn't go online safely because my AV would be disengaged before my modem connected. Every time I wiped the drive and reinstalled WinXP and my AV program then connected to the 'net to update my AV database, it'd be reinfected. How did I get a clean install without a virus? I reinstalled WinXP then, before connecting to the 'net, I went into "Services" and disabled Messenger (not to be confused with the IM client, MSN Messenger), a fairly well-known security hole in WinXP.
  • No. once a virus invades your computer, it only gets worse. i have the Norton Corporate System and it is fantastic. Once you install Norton, the firewalls are so strong, that you have to submit a list of sites that you allow to come into your computer. everything else is 100% blocked/ The Trojan is constantly creeping and waiting for an opportunity to shut you down. you need a clean sweep. you need to start over. i had over 800 viruses and burned my other computer. In the beginning, install the Norton System. You will be glad you did.
