  • NOT SURE, BUT I THINK YOU NEED TO GET AN "UNINSTALL" FROM NORTON. LOG ON TO THEIR WEB SITE.
  • It is a bit of a sod to remove to be honest. I have had huge problems with Norton in the past particularly with removal. Check out the Symantec website that should be of (some) assistance. I truly despise Norton and would advise moving to an alternative package (which you may very well be in the middle of doing!). There are some great free solutions out there.
  • I've just been told this by a BT engineer - they use it to uninstall it from their computers! http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
  • Start/Control Panel/ Programs and Features/Click on Norton and remove all.
  • 1) Open your computer case 2) take out the HDD 3) lay the HDD on a plain, hard surface 4) find a sledge hammer 5) whack the HDD with the hammer (be careful not to strain your back or arms). Repeat this step until you feel certain that there's no trace of Northon Antivirus left on the HDD
  • I used the uninstall in Add/Remove Prog's in Ctrl Panel, I also went to Run & used Regedit and removed any instances of Symantec from the registry. This worked for me!
  • Pirate commanader is so very right, this is the web site for removal tool for Norton - verison's 2003,2004,2005,2006,2007, 2008 and also Nortons 360,and also pcanywhere & winfax most of the time you can just go to add/remove and start with the file that says remove all on Nortons and then the update file and then there is one other that shows same symbol for update file, but 2008 has to be done from web site above no other choice.
