With everyone being "Smart and clever" and "above average" and what ever happen to just being "normal" and "run of the mill"?

LOL! Great question. I read an article once about a driver's survey that was performed by (I think) AAA. Basically, 75+% of the drivers considered themselves "above average" in driving skill, defensive driving, etc. Talk about warping the Bell curve! :)

You drop the standards and all "normal" and "run of the mill" people get promoted to "smart and clever" and "above average". I believe that with the advent of Reality Television this has occurred.

Im not smart and clever and Im probably not above average! But I get on with life! Im quite a normal person leading a normal run of the mill life! And you know what it suits me! I have to work for what I achieve!

Well, I consider myself 'run of the mill', but I couldn't rightly say that I am normal. Then again, I have no idea what it means to be normal, but I guess that's normal, so who knows?
