In the film Ghostbusters, does anyone know where the marshmallow man came from - it just sort of appeared?

I think that it rose out of the "Stay-Puffed" factory right behind the Empire State Building. Then, he meander towards the Ghostbusters.

At the point where he appears, the heroes were told to clear their minds and not think of anything that their enemy, Zuul, might use as a form. One of the Ghostbusters does not do this. Instead, he thinks of the most innocuous thing that he can come up with, the Staypuff Marshmallow Man. So, that is the form that the Zuul takes.
