For the most part, I think yes. Although sometimes it is demeaning and offensive. For example, when I first started dating my boyfriend, He would ALWAYS take boxes and bags from me (shopping etc) to carry them. I sat him down and told him (politely) that I am a big girl, and if I ever need help carrying something, I will be sure to ask for it.

Speaking as "even the roughest" YES. I like to get a compliment, flirt, giggle and joke...and be treated with appreciation. Absolutely.

I like to be around people who treat me, and others, with respect and consideration. I like to pay my own way and pull out my own chairs. I do appreciate kind gestures and always note them.

You're a newbie, and your approach is not the best way to "win friends and influence people." When you finally decide to act like a gentleman toward(s) [sic]us, I'll let you know if I appreciate it. oh yes! i certainly do. i like men who are kind towards me, talk to me politely,atleast give some respect even though they do not know me.i appreciate it and guess thats the reason why i've got equal proportion of men as well as women as my friends.
