  • Right now yes it is
  • I remember when gas used to be $1.10 a few years ago
  • Try 99pence a litre here in the UK
  • Yes, I do think gas is expensive. This is why I take the Metro. (Bus) Public transportation cost me $56 a month to take unlimited trips to and from anywhere the Metro bus system will take me. MUCH cheaper than gas.
  • No. When you adjust for inflation it is actually cheaper than it was when I was a kid.
  • Yes. If someone got paid minimum wage they could barely get 2 gallons of gas an hour. That's just pathetic.
  • No, it's not. If we actually had to pay all the externality costs associated with gasoline at the pump, it would be on the order of $7 - $8 per gallon. . . . http://www.icta.org/doc/Real%20Price%20of%20Gasoline.pdf . . .
  • It's way to expensive. It would be one thing if wages went up with inflation, but since they don't you can barely afford to get to work these days.
  • Definitely! Now that the big oil companies have us dependent on it, we are screwed. Yes, we can argue all day long about how I shouldn't have bought that car that only gets 20 m.p.g., but most of us have to have a vehicle to get to work, (no public transportation where I live). The next vehicle I buy will be a hybrid of some kind, so I can get 40 m.p.g and spend less on gasoline. Unfortunately, it will be a few years before I can afford to trade.
