I think history has shown that "making the world safe for democracy" is simply the cover story for America doing whatever the hell it wants, esp. ensure access to cheap resources (e.g. oil). Similarly, I think history has shown that "globalism" is the cover story for providing large multi-national corporations with the cheapest labor costs and lowest health, safety and environmental standards that they can find. . . .

In nearly every case - "making the world safe for democracy" actually means "making the world safer for corporatacracy". So, yes, it does mean 'corporate globalism'. There are numerous cases where dictators are shown love from the USA, so long as they sell the resources/labor cheap, keep the natives calm and know their place. The government could care less about democracy - if anything they fear people actually having an informed voice. Look at Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. At the very least, he is as good as any other leader in the region. Unfortunately, he believes that the oil profits should stay IN Venezuela. For that reason, the US wants him dead. He could kill 1000's and no one would blink - his crime was wanting to get paid for the oil. The government doesn't work for or care about the people of America or give a damn about people in other lands. Its prime motivation is securing profits for corporations - not just controlling markets - but controlling all the resources. What about the US democracy? The corporations fund politicians, they control the 4 or 5 sources of new media that controls who is 'democratically elected' and they are truly the boss.
