When the bible was written, people believed that the Earth was the center of everything, and the Heavens was all they could see with the naked eye above. Given the size of the universe, is it reasonable to think that God would spend all his time watching us move around on this tiny speck in the vast universe? I'd think there are MANY other things that would claim His time and attention, instead, if he exists.

Is it reasonable? No, of course not, not in that context. What might be more reasonable is to not place human boundaries and constraints on God. Your answer (which explains your question very nicely:) seems be going on the supposition that God's attention and focus can be on only a few things at a time, like the minds of human beings. I think it's impossible for the brain of a man to completely understand/comprehend the sheer physics of how God operates, for lack of a better word. For all we know, God has the ability to multi-task better than we can possibly imagine. After all, He is God. He created the Universe, imho.

It makes sense from a religious perspective that believes there to only be one true faith. If you look at it from a Christian perspective, God supposedly created man to watch over all other creatures of the earth, and since man's natural influence doesn't extend beyond this planet, you can extrapolate that Christian doctrines would also believe that Earth is the only planet created by "God" to support life of any kind, and therefor the only point in the universe that would need god's undivided attention. But the purely Christian perspective on the matter is, by all accounts, very arrogant. From a broader and more modest non-religious spiritual perspective, who's to say that "God" even exists as a singular personified being that is even limited by the constraints of a "Human" mind and ego that only focuses it's perception and existence in one place or time at once. Of course, one could also look at it from the atheistic perspective and say that "God" actually *Is* focused only on man because "God" does not exist outside of mankind's imagination, and a figment cannot exist or act on anything outside the immediate awareness of the person/s whose mind it is a figment of. So it does make sense from a Biblical/Chrstian perspective that believes %100 in the Garden of Eden style creation story, but otherwise no, the concept of Humans or even Earth in general as the pivotal center of god's awareness makes no sense at all.

From my understanding.. He is preparing a place for us. That can be interpreted many different ways but I do not see Him as sitting and watching over us. He is almighty.. He can be anywhere yet know everything. Not having to sit and watch us, to know what we do. I do not believe He is of flesh, like us to even make a comparison. The Spirit Of God is all knowing.. even a world away. I am sorry but as a believer.. there are many things I do not think any of us will even know until we meet Him. I believe this world of ours is but a blink of an eye.. so I can only imagine what could be going on somewhere else. It would be fascinating! I am curious as to what He does as well and hope to ask Him one day!
