  • It is best to get tweeters, mid-range speakers and a sub-woofer separately and connect them to an amplifier. You don't really need a woofer when you've already got one, unless you apply a filter to the speakers cutting all the sound from 0Hz to about 80Hz, in that case you can have a woofer.
  • You don't "need" a subwoofer for your setup. But if it was my system I would. This question is all a matter of personal interest. If you think that your system is loud enough and deep enough then save your money but if you want a little something extra then have at it!
