  • Google states on its site that the frequency of the updates varies but they strive to update frequently. So I guess there is no fixed time, and of course it would depend on when its sources are updated too. Incidentally when I first checked out the google local site it seemed to think a New Zealander might want to know how to get pizza In Kansas- I think it might not be too edible when it got here, even if it got through the import checks :-)
  • Google mostly updates whenever there is a demand from the Media. For example, before the Bucky Phillips case, Chautauqua County, New York (where I live) was in extremely low resolution in Google Earth. Within 48 hours of the first news report, it had been updated to the highest possible resolution.
  • The area we are in has been updated once in 5 years and that's all. Still waiting for something new, like showing our house is built now LOL!!!
  • I checked my previous home town and it appears to be approximately 8 years out of date. Seriously. I've also checked out my current home town. It used to be low-res, but it was recently updated to fairly high-res. However the pictures are at least 4 years old. Some parts of Melbourne (Australia), however, such as Flemington, appear to be fairly recently updated. And by recent, I mean 2-3 years. It's slow. Very slow.
