  • yes, but i'd make sure they were sunscreened!
  • I think, weather permitting, it's fine. In fact, potty training expertc recommend having your child naked (or at least bottomless and diaperless), if possible outside, in the summer months, as it's a quick and typically effective method of potty training. However, with young kids, it can be hard to teach them the difference between when it's ok and not ok to do things (like be naked) - so you have to really decide at what age your child should stop doing it. I think 3 is DEFINITELY the limit - and probably younger. My daughter is nearly 2 and potty training, so I let her go without a bottom on outside (but we have a fenced yard) on good weather days. But when she's done potty training, that will be the end of it for us !
  • I think kids should be able to run around naked as long as they are comfortable with it. Usually around 4-5 kids tend to grow some "Shame" and don't want to be naked around other people very much. I think the child's comfort should be the only factor. (+Sunscreen!)
  • I think it's ok, just as long as they are compfortable with it. I would put clothes on them if someone visits though, too many pervs around these days. And I don't think I would let them be naked in the backyard, unless it's fenced to where noone could see them. My friends son used to do this and it turns out their neighboor was a sex offender and was watching him. Just be careful.
  • Sure... just lube them up in sun lotion so the areas where the sun don't normally shine get good protection.
  • Yes. You should let your child express themselves.
  • Of course it's okay, although it is unusual and perhaps even less than healthy if they do past, say, the age of 8 or 9 or 10 - then running around in your underwear becomes the new "okay", and more or less stays "okay" until death. What's not okay are people who are ashamed of the human body, or who might be sexually attracted to prepubescent children. But we shouldn't let them control our own or our children's lives.
  • Sure, if they are comfortable with it and they are sunscreened and bug protected, let them enjoy themselves in this free innocent way before they get grownup hangups and people start making them feel weird for doing it. Saves on laundry, too :-)
  • Absolutely. Like the other person said, it's a good way to get a child potty trained and saves on laundry!
  • Why wouldn't it be ok?
  • Sure, why not? There's nothing sexual about it in the least. Hell, Gavin's been naked the last two days because of the heat. He even greets me that way in the morning and that's even when I put him in jammies. And if he takes his clothes off if he gets wet at the barn.
