Help answer this question below.
My brother was in the same position. He was able to find help through our state employment office, called the Employment Development Department.
"Many newly released offenders have difficulty
reintegrating into society. The Center
for Employment Opportunities (CEO)
in New York City is one of many programs
that help ex-offenders prepare for, find,
and keep jobs." For the rest of this article see:

uh , maybe you cant get a job because you are a felon . your paying the price!
I work in HR and the unfortunate point is that background checks determine anything in the past, however most checks only go back 5-7 years. Either way, you should come clean up front, and state that you feel you are a good fit for the position. You should also try to get any documents supporting your application (like a PO officer).
Hope that helps & good luck.
Just keep trying on every interview be honest. about your past. Everyone deserves a second chance I will pray for you
No offense, but it might have been smart of you to think of that before you commited the crime. Your best bet is, is to come clean with any interview chance you get and explain why, despite your past, that you deserve the job. And maybe what you have learned from all of this that would even make you better than others.
I wish you luck.
