Do you get anonymous junk text-messages on your cell? Can you block unrecognized sender text messages since I get charged for opening them, and can't delete them without opening them first?

You can have solicitation SMS blocked, yes. You have to call your wireless provider (I'm assuming AT&T?) and request them to do it. If this is your first time doing so, you may be able to dispute some of the charges, too. They're usually pretty decent about doing that for you, at least they were when I worked there.
