It is not why do you say that it is?
-
I used to feel that way until I started to volunteer and now I don't focus on my petty problems when I see how fortunate I really am. Volunteer work will do that for you.
-
It is a matter of perspective and one emotional stance. Life can be very purposeful or seem not so at all depending on ones energy, attitude towards life, and level of engagement with life itself. Meditation is helpful, as is developing more menaingful interactions with others and with nature.

In effect your question is pointless! You are effectively asking 'what is the cause of lack of cause?' There is no cause for lack of cause because for avery action there is an equal ond opposite reaction (Newton's 3rd Law of Motion can be applied to philosophy and psychology). If there is no action then there must not have been any action to it before, otherwise there would have been action in the reaction of the original action. The same can be said for cause! P.S. Sorry for the repeatition of 'action'!

Life does have a point, Mr. Emo. The point of life is to be successful and enjoy it while you can... jesus...
-
Because you are living it that way.
-
Many people feel that way, that there's a void or futility in living. I think that's not so. In any case, there are multiple "points" for living, it's up to each individual to find one or more that fulfills them.
-
It doesnt have to be! Life was a gift given to you by God. You are to do with it as you please but if you dont make the best of it you may began to feel as you do..take up a hobby, go out with friends, maybe look for a better job, start going for walks, take relaxing drives thru your town frequently. Start doing things just for fun, go to the store just to look around and may start appreciating life more.

The point of life for humans is the same as it is for all other living things, survival & reproduction. If you are looking for some deeper meaning you aren't going to find it. The evolution of the human brain is to some degree a paradox, on one hand, it enables to us to reproduce & survive to a degree above all other creatures. On the other hand, it causes us to question the purpose of our mere existence? For most people, religion fills this void, so they need not ask nor answer this question. For the non religious the trick is to accept this paradox and mentally move on to another plane of consciousness. Easier said than done. When someone steals from you, laugh. When someone lies to you, laugh. They are spending so much effort being deceitful & dishonest, for what? The point is survival & reproduction, if you have to lie, cheat, and steal to achieve those simple goals then you are pretty incompetent. So look at it this way, life is easy! Live, reproduce, and visit South America! The Andes are especially beautiful.

Only when you allow it to be. ;-)

I look for the fun, and its enough incentive for me to keep pressing
-
it just is really...... We're born crying, live out or lives complaining and die disappointed.
-
Bacause life is not like answer bag.. you don't get points for giving the correct answers..or the most popular.. what you do get points for )imaginary points.. but they come with chocolate sprinkles! ) is how you live your life...regardless.
-
the sad part of the pointlessness, is people that think this way get to take full credit for being alive.
-
It isn't. It can feel that way sometimes. You have to find your own point to life. My way is to make the world a better place by doing what little I can do. I want my children to inherit a better earth then the one I grew up on and that is my reason for being right now.
-
Life is often obtuse. Soemtimes it can get real pointy though.
-
its not! Believe me, I have felt the same way. But, we all go thru hard times and why wonder we bother. Try to focus on the little things. What was the point of today? Not to heal the worlds pains in a day, for sure. Did youo make someone laugh today? Did you make someone think about something they needed to think about? I bet, with this question, you DID! Right now, im thinking of the things that make life worth it all, just because of you! Thank you!
-
you have to make your own point in life, not strive for what someone else suggests is important. its really hard to break free of the your conditioning. there is no one meaning to life, nobody can make a meaning to your life, nobody is going to solve the great mystery of life, the universe and everything, so just do your own thing in your own way. there are many paths, but only one that you will take.

I'm so excited about it. I love every moment. I am ecstatic when I wake up. Anxious to go to bed. Exhilerated when stuff/shit happens. I'm bubbling out of myself. You may think I'm joking. But I'm so very serious. I wish everyone would join me. I wish everyone would have what I have. You know that empty feeling? The one that makes you want to eat when you're not hungry? The one that makes alcoholics and drug addicts? The bottomless hole? I filled mine up. It's not religeon. It's meditation. And it's real, it's heaven right here and now. Open your mind and use it.

Who said it is? its a great experience!

It is if you believe that we were born without a purpose. However, if, like me you believe that God put you here for a purpose, then your sorted. Think of the Matrix lol!!! :)
-
Purpose is a point of view. The purpose of a lawn mower is to cut grass but that is only from the point of view from a human being. To a fox the lawn mower is just a part of the environment. To the fox the lawn mower has as much purpose as any rock does on Mars(assuming the fox understands Mars). Every human being has their own perspective so even life itself could be meaningful or not.

Read Camus' "The Plague" ("La Peste"). Then get back to work. +5

You're smart. Some people never learn that. To hell with living forever. The mindlessness of no euthanasia and diet and all that crap chills me.
-
Because if you knew what life was about.. You'd know the answer and thus have no reason to live... Seek and you may find!
