I'm not sure. If I knew I was misusing them, I wouldn't do it. I assume my main misuse has to do with showing posession.
-
You mean like you just did? Just teasing...I probably misuse them more often than I realize. ;-)
-
I pretty much know when to use them, but from time to time I will misuse them.
-
I don't think I misuse them as much as I misplace them sometimes (i.e. "Are'nt" instead or "aren't") (Apostrophe's? ; )
-
I don't. Well, that sounds cocky, doesn't it? But very, very rarely -- if I do, it's usually a typo. Apostrophes are one of my pet peeves. I'm a big nerd.
-
Almost never. I know all the rules. Others don't, though, and I think someday it'll cease to matter. Many uses of the apostrophe are already on their way out. Language changes. That's not bad; that's not good. It just IS.
-
Quite often, though I do try not to.
-
Never, and it really bothers me when others do it. How hard is it to distinguish between a word that's possessive and a word that's plural?
-
Sometimes, especially when using "its" and "it's". It would be a heck of a lot easier if they had a stinking spell checker!
-
Ha ha...I get it!
-
To be truthful - far too often. However, it's not just with them that I have a problem with. I seem to not be sure, generally, where to put most puncuations. No-one has ever really drilled it into me and I haven't managed to pick up too many things on the way, unfortunately.
