Environmentally, Ethanol combustion still negatively affects the atmosphere. And, unlike nuclear power, it is less efficient (energy vs. mass/cost). So it would almost be a step backward from petrol, of which we still use the by-products for in industry. (Making it have a greater efficiency of energy vs. mass/cost)
