Get him a catnip laced mousie, some kitty treats and a few nice toys as well as get them some premium kitty food. Afterwards a few kind strokes on the cat's back will get him purring in contentment.

A little cat treat and a nice rub on the belly or head, whichever it prefers.

Well, first of all, don't try to make friends while his tail is still lashing back and forth. Let him cool down a bit before attempting to make peace. When you do approach him, don't come on too strong. Get down to his level and let him sniff you before you pet him. Slipping him a couple treats at this stage won't hurt a bit. Watch his body language. If he starts to become agitated, stop petting him, back off, and try again later. If he seems okay, use a long piece of string, a feather toy on a long plastic pole, a laser pointer, or some other form of kitty amusement that will keep your hand out of the action. Some more petting and a couple treats afterwards should seal the deal. If at all possible, try not to repeat the thing that annoyed the cat, unless it was taking him to the vet!

I just give them time. Most animals do not need 'amends'. They do not think like humans do. Anger a cat, and he will go away for a time, but when feeding time comes around, he will be all lovey-dovey.

Just behave as normal. Cats and dogs don't hold a grudge like some humans do.
