  • It's nice- but I don't think he's an a**hole if a guy doesn't. Unless I'm holding a bunch of stuff- then it doesn't matter who it is, I would hope they could hold the door for a second.
  • i tend to open the door for old people, i like to show them some sort of respect cos not many people do.
  • My ex husband never held the door for me. I, by force of habit, open the door for men.
  • I open the door for anyone...I'm kinda goofy like that.
  • I like when ANYone holds the door open for me. I always say thank you and smile. I don't think it's a sexist thing ... I think it's just polite to do so.
  • Yes I like it . I will hold open a door for other people but I consider it nice for a person to have nice manners. It is very difficult for men today when some women get angry because men treat them with respect and good manners.
  • I like it when guys open the door for me. If there is someone else behind me as I'm going in the door, I'll hold it open for them, but I hate when people do not say thank you.
  • Anyone.
  • I think its nice when men open doors for women. There's such few men out there that still do it, that it makes me appreciate the ones that still do.
  • Anyone actually, just a way to make the world a little nicer.
  • When anyone (man or woman) shows me courtesy and opens the door for me, I like it. I try to do the same for others.
  • I open doors for everyone and like having door held open for me. I hate when someone doesn't when I'm holding lots of stuff. I usually say "thank you" facetiously....
  • I appreciate it very much and I always thank them.
  • I like it, and the person (man, boy, woman, girl) gets a smile and a sincere thank you. I hold the door for others, especially if they're carrying stuff. I tend to look back before I let a door close behind me, in case there's someone there, and then I wait and hold the door a bit till they get there.
  • Of course I like it when a man shows manners. But if I got to the door first I would open it for him as well. I think it is rude to let the door close if someone is behind you.
  • I have no complaints if someone opens a door for me. I do it for others, too. It is common courtesy.
  • I love anybody showing a kindness to me and extend the same to men if I reach a door first. Very often they look so surprised but I like doing things for people all day long.
  • Yes, I do appreciate it.It shows his Momma raised him right. I will also open the door for a guy, Who-ever is at the door first should show the kindness.
  • I try not to touch door handles
  • I always open the doors.
  • I think it's kind no matter WHO opens the door for me, or holds it behind themselves! I try to make a point of catching the door for elders, and people with strollers...those buggers can be a pain to try and maneuver through a heavy door especially! I had a guy in a VERY COOL looking wheelchair (obviously a tricked out chair) who held the door for me the other day...wow, was HE built (upper body...crack your head like a walnut with those biceps!)
  • I try to hold the door for everyone, but will make an extra effort for elderly people. Though this may seem a bit sexist, i never make an extra effort for a woman. In this day in age, they are equal to the male. Therefore i dont believe there should be any EXTRA courtosy given. I do however the door should be held for them, as i would expect it from them aswell. It is common courtosy, nomatter the sex or even race.
  • I hold the door open for anyone near me.
  • I always open the door, (or hold it open), for all women, whether they like it or not. I was brought up that it was just common courtesy for a man to treat a woman that way! Of course, now, if anyone is close, I'll hold the door, man or woman. The sad commentary is "how many thank you's do I get"? It's not the reason I do it, (for accolades), but the "thank you's" run about 50-60%!
  • I expect men to be gentlemen. I like it very much. :D
