YOU DON'T NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION OR NEW VALVE BODY! There is a piston in a cylinder in the valve body that control when the transmission shifts. Transmission fluid is pumped against the piston until the engine speed and thereby fluid pressure reach a high enough pressure to cause the transmission to shift. The problem is that the fluid is leaking around the piston because the fit between the piston and cylinder is too loose. The fix can be done at a tranny shop for less than $1000. They refinish the cylinder and install an over sized piston. The new piston is about the size of your little finger. This is very common in Chevy Blazers and it's brother, the S-10 pick up.
