Dating - if someone keeps putting you off, making excuses, etc but yet continues to express interest and the wish to see you is this a sign of deeper emotional issues within the person?

Well I see it as someone saying that they want the benefits of dating without having to commit. I'm not saying 100% this is what's going on in that situation, that's just my experience.

It sounds like she just wants to be friends OR she has had some bad experiences with dating and doesn't want to get hurt again. Maybe you should move on until she knows what she wants. Just my opinion.

In my experience, when a man does this, he does not want to make any committment, but would like to have you available "just in case". That could also be the case with a woman. I say develop some other interests and broaden your base of friends. Someone who actually wants to commit to you is far more likely to come along. Worked for me!!
