If you motherly instincts tell you to get looked at, do so. One thing I learned from my wife's pregnancies is to trust in her instincts. But you didn't say how long 'lately' is - if he hasn't been moving for a couple hours probably no big deal. Couple days, could be something.

Just as a newborn sleeps longer as he gets older, fetuses do too. At first, their rest/sleep cycles are pretty short and they are tiny so you don't feel them moving much. But as they get bigger, you can feel them more so you are more aware of the awake/sleep cycles. Unless your baby hasn't moved for more than about 24 hours, I wouldn't worry. But calling the doctor wouldn't hurt if you are really concerned.
