If a user is found to be under 13 years old then their account is shut down. When you sign up you tick a box saying you're 13 years old or older.

yes 13 is the legal age requirement. I would not say that the ramifications are too serious since we have 12 year old Sages.

Legally we are obligated to remove the accounts (or at least any identifiable information) of anyone that we confirm to be under 13.
