  • They're looking in the mirror and seeing a...jackass!
  • They become upset and frustrated that they see someone that is more of a jackass than themselves, and feel threatened.
  • Have you ever met a jackarse personally? If not then just take my word for it, they brought it on themselves. They are the second thickest, second most obstinate animals ever to exist (There once was a rare genus of pygmy ground sloth that takes the first place title for thickness and obstinacy, but I'm pretty sure those little buggers are extinct now).
  • Jackasses are very stubborn, believe me. Thus the calling of stubborn or obstinate people jackasses.
  • I guess I've been blessed to only encounter NICE mules (Jackasses of the 4-legged type). Generally speaking the STUBBR0N qualities that are attributed to Mules are due to the fact that they are slightly smarter than the average horse. A Mule, if being used as a pack animal is more likely to REFUSE to move, if it is over packed with too much weight or if the pack contents are packed unevenly; which could result in the animal acquiring sores or injury to the back. Also, a Mule is more inclined to refuse to move forward if the saddle does not fit properly, or is in some other manner causing discomfort, or if the trail is not as safe as it should be. Mules are less likely to cooperate with humans who are abusive and threatening, where as horses are often more easily frightened by aggressive behaviors.
