  • The music for most Looney Tunes & Merrie Melodies from the 1930's to the 1960's was written by the great Carl Stalling. He was a true genius when it came to zany, identifiable music that fit the action perfectly. A few years back a great series of CDs was released called The Carl Stalling project. Search for it online or at any major record store -- it's got some amazing material, and of course it has track listings, song titles, and additional information. The Disney cartoons were scored by a variety of in-house composers. You could do more research by getting your hands on a book of Disney songs and cross-referencing some of the composers used most often. Back in those days, movies and cartoons didn't have "songs" or "bands" -- they had, scores, composers, and orchestras. Those were the days.
