  • You can live in your car, but you can't drive your apartment:)
  • Without a doubt, pay your rent. You definitly need a roof over your head... You should call to say that you'll be late for your car payment though, they'll give you a chance... Good luck, I know what you're going through, I know it's hard but hang in there...
  • Rent. Worst case, you take the bus or walk places for a while. You can always call your car people and extend the contract by one month - I've done that several times. Gives you more time to pay, and they like you better when you explain the situation.
  • pay your rent and call the car people and let them know what you can pay and talk with them.
  • Pay your rent. A car is more of a luxury than a need. Call the company and explain the situation, if you have a good payment history, they may not even charge you a late fee. *Good luck, I hope you situation gets better soon*
  • Sell your car, if public transportation is available. Move in with your parents if they allow it. Get off Answerbag and go earn some money!!!!!!!!!!
  • Rent- you need a roof over your head. If you lose the car, you can always take the bus.
  • pay your rent... people will rather give you a ride than a place to crash. You can always walk, bike, bus to work or wherever you want to go, but finding a place to sleep at night can become difficult after a while.
  • Make the car payment. The delinquent rent does not get reported to the credit bureaus.
  • Depending on what kind of situation you're in with both debts, you can talk to either one of them about how your finances are currently restricting you. My first inkling would be to pay the car payment, and part of your rent. I hope your landlord is understanding. You may be able to work out some sort of plan with him/her. Repo men are far less forgiving, though.
  • I think you should pay your rent. A car is a luxury, an apartment is a neccesity.
  • Rent. Car payments are much more a matter of choice. If you're not "upside down" in your car loan (you owe less than the car is worth), you can trade in the car for one with a lower payment (or no payment). One common reply to the question "What's the best car in the world" is "Paid for". I drive a 12-year-old Toyota pickup for that very reason (NO payments!).
  • Car payment
  • pay the rent - you can always catch a lift, catch a bus or walk if you have to get somewhere. But i suggest you contact the cars financial provider and explain your situation and ask for an extension or ask to have that payment added to end of loan term.
  • Rent. You need a house.
  • Call your landlord and tell him you will be $100 short on rent until the (whenever you get paid again) and if they throw a fit pay all of your rent. If they are willing to work with you on it send the $100 for your car payment and explain to them that you will send the rest ASAP.
  • This provides my answer with some humor.
  • Rent. Unless, of course, you wouldn't mind living in your car.
  • Rent or Mortgage should ALWAYS be #1. You need a home.
  • Pay half of each then next month pay half of each again then you be caught up. Wait no. uuummmmm. burn the car and collect the insurance and buy a bus pass ?
  • pay the rent!!!! you can always take the bus to work
  • Pay your rent! If it's late, the landlord will add late fees. A 10% late fee on rent that's $1000 will add another $100 to your already unaffordable rent. If that's not paid within 5 days, they file papers with the court. And THAT is on your credit report. If you don't pay still, you'll have a judgement on your credit report which is harder than anything to remove!
  • Pay the rent, so you have some place to sleep. Send something on the car loan, even if it is ten dollars so they know you are operating on good faith. Talk to them about your situation. They'd rather work with you than repossess the car and probably not even cover their costs.
  • I would call both - one or both may be willing to reduce or otherwise adjust payments due. Wouldn't be out of anything but a couple of phone calls & it may do some good.
  • car payment. your landlord is probably more willing to work with you on a late payment- on the other end- you might be able to skip 20 days or so of car payment without receiving a notice. check into it.
  • depends on the car?
  • Homeless...I dont think so. This shouldn't even be asked. Pay your rent specially if you have a family...duh! Who cares about private transportation anymore when you lose a roof. You have to have the basic first, a home. Forget credit. It is not a priority anymore. Be strong and pay your rent always first.
  • Obviously your rent first. You can take a bus or walk to your office but house is an important aspect for anyone and everyone. You can live without a car but not without a house. regards
  • Make the Car payment
  • If you are homeless from not paying the rent, an you live in the car?
  • Rent, and hopefully you have a garage.
  • you can always live in your car
