  • Are you kidding. I have a life outside AB and I never use lol, etc, even here.
  • Sometimes I almost say ''lol'' but thankfully have avoided it so far. That's what made me nervous about meeting ABers in meatspace, in case I leapt into Internet lingo. Not long ago I had to write an essay, which meant I needed to use the word ''reader'' a lot in it. I handed the essay in and got it back COVERED in red pen. It turned out I'd used ''user'' the whole way through.
  • As a current summer teacher assisstant, I just give the bonus +10 on a student's paper for extra credit on this case. I don't use the text in real life though, kind of sounds weird to me. I just say it or laugh it out.
  • I rarely use those. Sometimes online yeah, but in real life? No. I don't suppose it's unusual since I have heard many people admitting to doing that.
  • Considering how I don't type in netspeak, no. Even though the rest of the English language is going down the crapper, I still prefer to speak (and type) coherently.
  • No I do not , I do not tell people I am giving them points either.
