  • Person to person, although is the best way to build a relationship, is not the only way. With today's technology, you can meet people in your own room. Chat rooms, phone calls, emails, etc. Many friendships and, yes, even good relationships have come from the internet. Just don't forget that there is a real world outside of your room. Don't be surprised if someone else is feeling the same way and is just waiting for an invitation.
  • I would say that the best use of the internet for solving this problem is not chatting, but searching interesting events that are held around your area. Events where someone might even go alone and start getting used to be with people. Next step is to say just a hello or a joke after a common observation just to make you start a conversation. Chatting will most of the times lead to more chatting. It may be hard to close your PC and arrange a meeting. It will never get you out of the house. It is another reason/excuse of making it hard to get out. The main reason is that chatting will make you express yourself easier, and this will make you feel more comfortable with yourself, but there is a case that you will forget the real world. Nevertheless, if you can use the internet with caution and only for arranging to meet someone in the real world is very nice.
