The person who left the toddler in the van is responsible, and should be charged with murder.
-
The people responsible should be locked in a van in 95 degree heat and left to perish. . .
-
That is so sad. The adult is fully responsible. I say lock them up for a very long time. Also, they should not be allowed to have any more children in their care ever!
-
I'm w/ singwell. That daycare worker should be charged w/ murder. They daycare should also permantly loose thier license and individuals in charge should be prevented from ever working w/ children.

The person who forgot the child not only needs to be charged with murder, but given the death penalty and exacuted by being left in a car in the hot sun. That poor child cook to death and was aware when he died. I also think all of the other care givers should be given child neglect chrages for not noticing the child was gone after they got back. After all they have to sign those kids in and out when they go anywhere and should have known he was gone.

No, that would be too harsh. Then who would be responsible for killing the other people who are dead? That's murder. Not execution. Well, the people who are responsible would probably be the parents or the daycare carers. But how can you die in 95 degrees? Tnat is pretty hot...but maybe because they were a toddler. And it didn't figure out how to open the door yet? I don't know what should happen to the responsible people though...I don't have a harsh heart. A really soft one actually. But they should go to court, then go to jail, and pay a fine.

What if it was the daycare person's kid?
-
The day care worker should be executed the same way, the parents charged with neglect and abuse for not checking out the care center.
-
That's awful. It really makes me hesitant to put my child in day care! I think the harshest penalty possible is appropriate. I remember a case where a PASTOR left his young daughter in their car for 8 hours while he was at work (at a church of all places) because he "forgot" she was there and "forgot" to drop her off at school. Needless to say, the child died. The father was charged with a MISDEMEANOR child neglect and sentenced to one year probation and 100 hours of community service. Hardly an appropriate punishment, in my opinion.

The person or persons directly responsible should be charged with felony child negligence and manslaughter and should receive a prison sentence.

If this had happened by a parent or friend who is NOT the major caregiver, then I would have to say you need to investigate more fully "why" or "how" it happened, but because you said it was a daycare bus, then I have no sympathy. The bus driver needs to be charged with manslaughter at the least and the daycare center needs to be charged with negligent homicide. Their job as the bus driver is to get the children to and from safely. When they drop off, they should check the seats to be sure nothing is left on the bus - ESPECIALLY a living being. The daycare facility should have a "roll-call" for the riders and they should be checked off as they get off the bus. If one isn't accounted for, then check the bus and if they aren't there, call the parents until the child can be accounted for. Having a child left behind on a "school bus" is unacceptable and 100% avoidable.
