No, it is not true. The world is young and until all opposites unite there will always be contradiction. They differ in character, form and solution but this is how society develops. When one contradiction is solved a new one will arise. No contradiction would mean no more development. Arguments suggest that contradictions can indeed be true in some conceptual world, specifically those in which logic and analytic philosophy do not apply. The Trinity is (or is within) one of those worlds so that we can affirm in Trinitarian discourse that 1 equals 3 even if this is nonsense in other worlds. In other words, within the doctrine of God we can affirm a true contradiction.

Using normal, conventional definitions of words they most certainly exist. I found only one sense of the word that could support an affirmative answer to the question. According to m-w.com, "3 a : logical incongruity b : a situation in which inherent factors, actions, or propositions are inconsistent or contrary to one another" It seems likely that the word used in this sense reflects flawed definitions, measurements or premises.

If I understand this question correctly I think you are saying when something is contradicted the idea is flawed because the new idea discredits the old. I think flawed premises and contradictions are two separate things, in fact I believe a contradiction is a revelation which exposes a flawed premise.

Contradictions are what makes the world go round.ie; Day-Night, Cold-Hot, Up-down, good-bad. ETC.

It's a damnation of philosophy and linguistics. Since you can never express yourself to another being without the burden of translation, your question can never truly be answered. It's like diving into a fathomless pool in order to answer the question: "How deep is this pool?" You will drown before either retrieving the truth, or at least being able to relay it to others. Once you have broken the surface, you are unlikely to return with the information you sought in the first place.

Contradictions are always a sign that we have conceptualized reality: e.g., we've mentally "parsed it into pieces". When we do this, we necessarily introduce distortion which guarantees that contradictions will occur if certain ideas are juxtaposed with each other. This is the unavoidable consequence of conceptualization -- when you "chop reality up" into distinct pieces, you always have to sever relationships and details which are an intrinsic part of reality. There is no getting around it. The reason there is so much conflict in the world is because we tend to form conceptual systems which differ, and then we begin to believe our own constructions. When my belief differs from your belief, and we've each committed our identities to defending those beliefs, its a short hop to conflicts and suffering.

Contradictions cannot exist. A is A, B is B, this is true for reality. If you think you've found a contradiction, check your premise and you will find one is faulty. Contradictions in terms can exist only in the realm of text, even those don't exist in reality. Something either is, or isn't. Did you guys skip Aristotle? Plato?

Contradictions do not exist, only flawed premises. This is as true for the Trinity as it is for anything else. When folks believe the "oneness" of the Trinity is numerical, it SEEMS contraditory, and thus you get all the convolutions of traditional Christianity. But when you understand that the "oneness" is not numerical, but meant to convey "like mindedness," you get a better understanding and the contradiction ceases to exist. See John 17 Where Jesus is clearly praying to Heavenly Father... why pray to himself if they are numerically one and the same... and praying that the disciples, and not only them, but all that believe, would become one as He and the Father are One. Therefore.. the oneness is most definitely not numerical, and the vision of Joseph Smith where he saw Jesus standing on the right hand of the Father as two separate entities is no longer blasphemic.... besides, Stephen had a similar experience in the Bible... So... check your premises... check your understanding of the language... check the intentions... Contradictions truly don't exist.. A is A; A is not B. "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." John 17:3 http://scriptures.lds.org/en/john/17
