Help answer this question below.
No, but I went to the first day of the recent 5-day Apple World Wide Developer's Conference in San Francisco 2 weeks ago, and watched Mr. Jobs demonstrating various latest introductions, including the upcoming iPhone.
I have never been to an Apple conference before... I have to say it was eye-opening: not so much the products, but the reaction of the thousands of faithful. It's almost like a cult, when Steve swipes his finger across the iPhone screen to light it up, the room erupts in enthusiasm.
I roll my eyes: "It's a fancy PDA / phone!", thinks I. Nobody in the room seems to share my underwhelm.
I gotta say, they're loyal.

You're reading Apple chief Steve Jobs is said to regard his products as sacred objects that should inspire techno-lust. Do you techno-lust after new technology?

Carmella, it would be better to be invited to the World Wide Candy Conference....LOL

hehe, yeah! Even better...lebkuchen! I must say I'm rather disappointed I didn't see SB on the news...I saw coverage of the Apple Conference but it did appear somewhat packed.

He should have pushed in front of the camera with a "Stableboy on Answerbag" placard.

Hey, Carmella, did you know that each year in Rimini Italy, there is the International Festival of Gelato....I vote this be a compulsory Answerbag excursion. LOL

The burning question is...did he get a free pen from Apple?! I have around 50 pens from various conferences, you can't go to one and come away without a pen and your head held high.
Gelato is ice cream isn't it? I avoid all forms of Italian where possible when I'm over there. The guy in our local shop understands what I mean by how loud I shout and how madly I wave my hands. I think he's scared of me ;-) I'm most proud I know what a ''francobollo'' is. I can even pronounce it now. But yes, I also vote we have a world ice cream convention day for AB in Italy. I have the funniest memories from parlours in Rome, the servers are nuts!

A free pen. Yes, indeed. I collect them too, but not for myself. I give them to people in Bali, as they are very expensive to buy, maybe a day's wage for a poor person. So my pockets are always full of pens and pencils, and I am always scrounging them out of companies here.

Ikea is GREAT for free pens and pencils. I highly recommend it!

I'll try that. Thanks for the tip.

A free PEN!? How about a free black heavy-duty laptop carrying bag, with padding, a bunch of pockets, a shoulder strap, cell phone holder, and the phrase "Apple World Wide Developer's Conference" blasting out in white letters?
Oh yeah, and a T-shirt. Also black.
Pen! Hmmmph.

You got a free laptop? Really? And you didn't get me a ticket to come? What's with you these days? You've changed.
by Carmella on July 2nd, 2007
A free laptop BAG, dear! You are so cute when you're confused. :)
by Stableboy on July 2nd, 2007
That's a bit rubbish imo. A black bag you say?! One of my free pens flashes red, classy. You were short changed. Wouldn't catch me flying to San Francisco to come back with a black tshirt. I'm surprised you haven't attempted to dye it green ;-)
