Should the next U.S. census have a check box for gay/lesbian/transgenered? Or would this be dangerous? The government used race information before for Japanese-American internment. Would we be safe in the future?

While such a question might gather information that would be useful for demographic purposes, with the government's current grasping for personal information on everyone for whatever purpose; I would be very hesitant to reply truthfully to such a question. I think many others would hesitate, also.

I think that it could be put on there (not should), but I also think that there is NO part of the census you should, or do, HAVE to answer.
