I'm not aware that this is the case. I know some are opposed to the use of "the occult" in literature, but don't mind a good story as long as it aligns with their world view.

I didn't know any were. However, if there is a religion that does not want it's followers reading fiction then it would be because fiction may give people ideas. This may lead to the religion being challenged. If you want to try to control what people believe and think, then you have to limit contact with others in case they start to think for themselves. If they only read what you have told them to, then they will remain blinkered and easy to influence.

There are no religions that I know of that forbid the reading of fiction. There may be some individual churches or preachers, but not religions. In fact, many of the great works of fiction were written by religious people.
