I've been dancing with the idea of, letting people have full citizenship if they sign up with our armed forces. OR, they pay for the visa if possible. In an ideal world it wouldn't be such a big deal- but because it is, we have to do SOMETHING about it. People shouldn't have to live in extreme poverty like they do in some places in Mexico- so give them a gun and then bring them in. As far as family goes, I'm not sure how I feel about the details. Maybe wife and children should come with, because parents should be with their kids- and then he can send money home to his/her family and everyone's "happy"- at least then everyone is legal.

Open border nothin'. We have immigration laws for a reason. However, I don't see anything wrong with allowing a good number more legal immigrants in. If they can find legal work, they should be allowed to come work here. If they can't, they go home. And if they find illegal work, they are caught, sent home, and not allowed to try again. And for all I care, their employers can go with them and make space for people who want to hire employees legally. If we make the legal route more appealing, and the illegal route more painful, more people will enter legally, but they will become upstanding residents, and THOSE, we all like.

This country has always been the land of oppurtunity for immigrants, Why do mexicans not deserve the same opportunity?
-
For all practical purposes, there is an open border. We should have the Israelis build one of those nifty fences from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. Why? The amount of tax illegal immigrants are paying, doesn't come close to paying for the social services they are sucking out of us. Fact: 45% of all births in Los Angeles County hospitals are from indigent, illegal immigrants. I don't even want to know what that little gem alone is costing us here in L.A. How about that emergency room that used to be 4 minutes from your house, but closed because illegals used it as their primary care facility, knowing they would not be turned away? The ER finally closed because it could no longer afford to run a free service. So now that emergency room that you or your family may need is now 20 minutes away. I could go on forever - don't get me started.

I believe there should be an open border.Amercia was founded on immigration and there is enough abundance in America for all people. All people want a better life regardless of culture, skin color or language.
-
Are there enough jobs for them? If there are let them in. The American culture wouldn't even exist without immigrants - give me your poor, your downtrodden, your needy, etc.
-
Electric fences, guard dogs and large machine guns. Why? Because I'm sick of hearing them say, "We do the jobs YOU lazy Americans won't do." BULLSHIT. I know a lot of people who'd LOVE to do those jobs, it's income sorely needed. The COMPANIES just want to use YOU because they can pay you dick.

of course but i think only the deserving and hard working. me myself came as a immangrant of london,England and both of my parents r nigerian. they came here and worked so hard. Everyone you see around is basically an immagrant there heritsge is not originally amereican. so who's to say hard working mexicans are not allowed in this country of oppurtunites.

Civil Society Helps (civilsocietyhelps.org) helps perpetuate fraud against U.S. citizens. The courts in Minnesota are ill equipped and uninformed about the immigration fraud these kinds of groups promote. See http://www.marthasullivanlaw.com to learn about a common immigration fraud tactic. With false accusations from an immigrant residency seeker and the help of VAWA laws, a stable American citizen can be reduced to living in poverty. All of your assets can be seized and given to the immigrant residency seeker even if you are not found guilty. You will immediately be forced to surrender a portion of your income to the immigrant residency seeker. The courts will order you to turn your motor vehicle over to the immigrant residency seeker even if the car is in your name and the residency seeker does not have a drivers license. Your illegal immigrant spouse becomes legal and you become illegal. The court system will abuse you and strip you of your rights while social programs that promote immigration fraud thrive.

We need a electrified fence, troops guarding the border with orders to shoo to kill, land mines, and air support.
-
Physical Border. Need not be electrified, but make it a damn challenge to get across. Allow more legal immigrants in, that way they pay taxes just like the rest of us. Illegal immigrants have become a scapegoat in the past 20 years, whenever the economy goes bad it's "Those damn mexicans!". When the economies good, people ignore and tolerate them, it's just a fact of life.

I think that if Mexico wants to have open borders with the US and no such thing as Mexicans as illegal aliens that they should be the first to make their immigration laws lenient. They have stricter laws then we do. The Mexican president is a hypocrite. I don't think there should be an electrified fence. Even though George Carlin hasn't claimed authorship of this piece(nor disclaimed it) I think this is a great solution. Killing two birds with one stone: George Carlin's Solution to Save Gasoline Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use. The best way to stop Using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants! That would be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would come down. Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle an some ammo and ship him to Iraq. Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it. After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot. This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves. If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo. Problem solved.
