Why Indeed.
After all he just made R M win the Liga for the first time in 3 years. (Much to my chagrin)
The consensus is that the club directives and fans weren't that happy with his style which is after all a moderate version of the "catenaccio" (Italian style of defending and counter-striking). Also R M fell short in other competitions (UEFA Champions league for example).
As a die-hard Barcelona fan, I hope this comes back to haunt them : )

So far I do not think they have actually given a real reason. They won a Cup this season so it was not a total empty year.
