Sometimes people just need some space after a fight. I'm like you -- I prefer to talk things out immediately. However, despite conventional advice, it's not always best to treat others the way you want to be treated. Sometimes, you have to treat them the way THEY want to be treated. If somebody wants time to cool off before talking, it may be for a good reason: maybe this person says things when angry that he later regrets. Maybe he doesn't think clearly when he's mad. We know what we need to be comfortable. So I would leave one message saying that you're sorry about the fight and you'd like to talk when he's ready -- and then give him a little time.
