not necessarily... Actions do speak louder than words though.

Maybe they are trying to put their best foot forward??

I think they are off their rocker or deaf, dumb and blind. People annoy me to no end and I have muttered "i hate people" today which hasn't happened for a good long time.

Might be, yes. But many people just choose to be optimistic in their view, and if you question them further, there really are people they struggle with and times they aren't entirely happy with everything. There are also a third type of people I've encountered who would say the same thing... those who never think hard enough about anything to have trouble or be unhappy.

I think they are probably self medicating on some serious drugs.

Possibly, but not necessarily.

I think these fall into two general camps: those who are indeed in denial and lack self-awareness (not necessarily about emotional pain, but something...), and those very rare individuals whose spiritual development is so advanced that the statement is actually true. Trouble is, that last group isn't very inclined to talk this way in public, because they realize that doing so invites comparisons that stimulate the reactive ego of others... and because they're enlightened enough to be aware of this, they shy away from placing a sort of "competitive spiritual bar" out in the open for others to jump over. Now, if you're in a private conversation with someone you see as a spiritual mentor, and they say something like that, I'd be inclined to grant it some legitmacy. If you hear someone announcing that in public, I'd take it with a grain of salt. Well, maybe two grains.

My brother loves everyone and is happy 99% of the time...and i have never heard a bad word said against him.....but as his sister i see he has a cage over his heart and will never let it slip... so i think a little of both.
