  • Do not feel it was personal, I have been downrated on answers about the death of my husband and son. There are a few twisted and unkind people about, luckily most people are very kind.
  • Maybe that individual has a severe “medical condition” of his own.
  • For the same reasons that some people are flagging and rejecting questions about a medical condition as nonsense. In my first formulation, I did not say that it was my own condition: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/485349 I think the reasons are prejudices, lack of understanding and by flagging, trying to get some points. Of course, there could also be in some cases a particular, valid reason, but people flagging or DR questions often don't give them. For instance, flagging a question as duplicate because it has been asked twice is a valid reason, it should normally not be downrated. Remember also that some people a just starting here.
