  • Thats a good possibility. Although I think they alluded to the Borg being really old. It wasnt' that long in Star Trek Time from the time Kirk and crew meet V'ger to when Picard came across the Borg.
  • I doubt it. I've never seen the original movie, but I remember seeing an episode of Enterprise, and they came across the Borg at one point. I think it was a cliffhanger ending or something, and I never saw the result of it. But I think even before than they had probably been around for a long time.
  • In Star Trek I, V'Ger mentions meeting a race of machines who increased it's powers and abilities immensely. There has been some speculation that that race was the Borg Collective, but this is not supported by canon. The Borg Collective is known to have existed as a cyborg race before humans developed spaceflight. Also, with the speed of the Voyager probes, which is what V'ger really was, Voyager VI; the Enterprise NX-01 was starting its explorations about the time Voyager VI could've made it even a tenth of the way to the Borg.
