I've signed up on the 'do not call' lists more then once & they still call. I press the number to be removed off their calling lists & some how I still get telemarketers all day long. Besides change my number what else can I do to get them to stop calling

Sounds like you are doing everything right. Whenever you speak to a person make it known you are VERY upset and use the words "Off of your list, NOW" (I used to telemarket) Understand though that market research does not fall under these laws and they can call when ever (These people do surveys and have nothing to sell you even if they wanted)

Let them know you've asked to be taken off the list several times, you've changed your number, and if they don't stop calling you're going to call your lawyer. That's what I did and nobody ever called again.

If someone calls you and you tell them to 'take me off your call list', by LAW they have to do so. If they call back, after giving them a week or so to implement it, then you can take them to court and get financial recompense for them doing so. I keep a list by my phone of who calls. By the way, organizations like police, fire department, etc... are exempt from this. As well as from the do not call list.

If you have caller ID, jot down their number, and remember the time they called and the company name. Go online to the federal do not call site (where you signed up) and report them. You will need the above info. Also, remember that if you signed up recently, it takes a few weeks for telemarketers to stop calling you. Also, non-profits, companies you do business with or have accounts with and survey companies can still call you.

Been there and done that, too!! This is how I deal with the problem ..... (1) Make sure you have "Caller I.D."; (2) Make sure you have an answering machine. (3) If you do not recognize the name and/or number on the caller i.d. don't pick up the receiver. (4) Keep in mind that if the caller is one you don't recognize and doesn't leave a message, you most likely wouldn't have wanted to talk to him, anyway. If the unknown caller starts leaving a message and it is someone I do not know, I might lift the receiver and let them know they have the wrrong number so they don't keep calling.

Or you could answer the phone out of breath, saying "I'm busy I got 2 naked men/women in bed right now, what the hell do you want ???"
