You first say -- May I ask you a question? When it's answered, you say -- May I ask you another question? Note that you will always can, but it is the word "may" you should use.

I try not to say "Can I ask you a question" if I can help it. I've gotten the "Oh, looks like you used up your question" too much. I try, "are you busy? I have some things to ask you" or "Mind if I ask you a few things?" It keeps it open for more than one question.
